The Inspiration
Preppy New England, the 1970's, and the trompe l'oeil clothing of Elsa Schiaparelli are just a few of the inspirations for my belt buckles and straps.

I have always thought that clothing should have a sense of humor, a sort of "wink" "wink" component if you will, and always felt that accessories were the perfect vehicle to add this tongue-in-cheek sensibility to one's wardrobe. I have always admired the confident girl with the irreverent attitude towards fashion, who dressed to amuse herself and had fun with her sartorial choices, but who above all maintained her cool chick allure. To this end, I have designed my buckles to be whimsical and charming, from 1970's inspired strawberries and turtles, to a preppy by way of Woodstock sailboat. The straps include hippy influenced hand painted styles to statement making rock and roll studded examples. The most important element is that the wearer of a Lucy's Sister belt has a great time doing so.
